National Assembly Passes New Law for Overseas Pakistanis

Pakistan’s National Assembly has passed a new law called:

“Establishment of Special Court (Overseas Pakistanis Property) Act”

This law mainly focuses on protecting the property rights of overseas Pakistanis

Why Was This Law Needed?

Millions of Pakistanis live abroad and send money back home.
But many of them face serious problems like:

• Illegal occupation of their land or houses

• Property disputes while they are overseas

• Long court cases taking years

The government introduced this law to give fast justice to overseas Pakistanis and protect their properties.

• Freeze or attach property

• Return possession to the real owner

Once a case starts, the disputed property cannot be sold or transferred until the court gives a final decision.

✅ 6. Faster Appeals

If someone disagrees with the decision:

• Appeal can be filed in High Court within 15 days

• Appeal must also be decided quickly.
