$1000 billion laundered out of poor countries every year Says PM Imran

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Tuesday said that $1000 billion are laundered from poor countries every year and people like Nawaz Sharif and Asif Ali Zardari send looted money abroad.
Addressing a meeting of the federal cabinet, PM Imran said that as per the FACTI panel report, which was constituted by UN Secretary-General, $7000 billion of the poor nations is stacked abroad in tax havens.
The premier further said that Asif Zardari, with his wealth accumulated through corruption, buys people as everyone has witnessed what happened in elections of the upper house of the parliament.
He said mega projects are also executed by such corrupt elements to get big kickbacks in return. He said the people have to pay the price of this corruption in the form of inflation.
Imran Khan said that a nation is destroyed when it loses its ability to do justice and a nation that has no moral standing can never do justice. He further said nothing like corruption shakes the foundation of the country.
He also emphasized the need for using electronic voting machines in the elections to make the whole process transparent. He said he will regularly take updates on the matter as well as giving the right of franchise to overseas Pakistanis.
