LAHORE: Renowned singer Ali Zafar will sing the official anthem of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season 9, scheduled to commence on February 17.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, the franchise league shared the video of the superstar playing the melody of one of his PSL anthems “Ab Khel Jamay Ga”.

“Seeti Tou bajay ge. Countdown to [HBL PSL 9] Anthem Excitement! [Ali Zafar] is set to immerse his magic to the official HBL PSL anthem 2024,” wrote PSL.

However, it is yet to be confirmed whether the PSL 9 Anthem will be a solo or duet.

Moreover, the release date of the PSL 9 Anthem, as of yet, is also unknown but with only 14 days left in the commencement of the extravaganza, it can be speculated that the highly-anticipated anthem is just around the corner.

Notably, Ali Zafar sang three HBL PSL anthems of the first three editions, namely “Ab Khel Ke Dikha”, “Ab Khel Jamay Ga” and “Dil Se Jaan Laga De”.

The aforementioned anthems received immense appreciation from the fans.

But the singer was replaced by several other popular artists including Atif Aslam, Ali Azmat, Fawad Khan, Aima Baig, Asim Azhar, Naseebo Lal, Shae Gill and Young Stunners for the next five anthems.

Despite featuring the top voices of the country, those anthems failed to satisfy PSL fans as they kept on demanding Ali Zafar’s return.

It is worth mentioning here that the PSL 9 will be held from 17 February to 18 March 2024 in four cities – Karachi, Lahore, Multan and Rawalpindi.

Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium will host the curtain-raiser of the tournament between defending champions Lahore Qalandars and two-time champions Islamabad United.

The final of the six-team tournament will be staged at the picturesque National Bank Stadium in Karachi on March 18.
