The Awami National Party (ANP) has decided to part ways with the Opposition parties’ alliance Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM).
According to the sources in the ANP, the party has also conveyed its decision to the PDM leadership. The ANP opted for a strong reaction to the PDM’s show-cause notice for violating Movement’s decisions.
A high-level meeting of the ANP was held in Islamabad on Tuesday which was presided over by the party’s acting president and Senior Vice President Amir Haider Khan Hoti.
The meeting was attended by Ghulam Bilour, Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Zahid Khan, and others.

On Monday last, former prime minister and PML-N leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi had announced that after the approval from PDM President, show-cause notices had been sent via WhatsApp to PPP and ANP over violating PDM decisions and sought reply within seven days.
Abbasi said notices had been sent via WhatsApp while the original copy will be given during the Senate session. “The PMD has given seven days to PPP and ANP to submit their replies. The replies will be presented in the PDM summit that will decide on the next course of action,” he further added.
Abbasi said it has been written on the notice that PDM will not make this notice public but if both parties want to make these notices public they could do that.
