RAWALPINDI: The head of Awami Muslim League (AML) Sheikh Rashid has alleged that attempts are being made to disqualify, jail and even eliminate PTI Chairman Imran Khan, adding that the 13 parties alliance, commonly known as PDM, isn’t prepared to go into elections in the presence of the PTI Chief.
Taking to Twitter on Friday, Sheikh Rashid said he would appear in the Supreme Court today, through his lawyer Advocate Sardar Razzaq, to pursue his petition challenging the appointment of Mohsin Naqvi as caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab. Anticipating his own arrest, Sheikh Rashid further said that he could approach court (to seek relief).
The AML leader said the ‘incompetent government’ had gone berserk as the dollar had climbed all-time high against the Pak rupee, at the rate of 260 now, and the deal with IMF was in the doldrums. He further said that the government had plans to occupy Lal Haveli which, he claimed, was his personal property.
Sheikh Rashid claimed that two decisions had been made, that provincial elections (in KP and Punjab) would be held along with the Center (National Assembly), and that effort would be made to subtract Imran Khan (apparently from politics).
