Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley receives snowfall

MUZAFFARABAD: The mountains and hills in Azad Kashmir continued to receive snowfall on the second consecutive day today. The AJK State Disaster Management Authority advised people to avoid traveling to urban upland areas amid heavy snowfall.
Local officials of Met Department said Neelum, upper regions of Jhelum valley became chiller due to snowfall on the mountains. Besides this, intermittent rains increased the cold in lower areas of the valley. The significant mountain snow in Muzaffarabad hills including Makra, Saran, and Pirchanasi brought much colder temperatures to the valley.
The Met Department has predicted that partly cloudy weather with more rain-wind/thunderstorms (snow over hilly areas) is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Balochistan.
On Tuesday, mainly dry weather is likely in most parts of the country. However, isolated rain-wind/thunderstorm (snow over hilly areas) is expected in Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
In past 24 hour, rain-wind/thunderstorms occurred at upper/central Punjab, Islamabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit Baltistan and Balochistan.
