Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has urged business community to focus on growth of export-oriented sectors like Information Technology and agriculture-related industry.

He was chairing a meeting of a group of business communities in Karachi to figure out a way forward to cope with the financial challenges facing the country.

The Prime Minister promised to develop Export Industrial Zones in all parts of the country where exporters would be provided facilities like necessary infrastructure and effective One Window Operation to resolve their problems.

Shehbaz Sharif also emphasized the need to develop solar and wind energy sectors for the production of green and renewable energy. He said Pakistan cannot afford to spend twenty billion dollars annually on oil imports.

Highlighting the government’s decision to ban the import of luxury and nonessential items, he said it would save four billion dollars annually which is sufficient to finance the annual import of palm oil.
