Nigar Johar becomes first female lieutenant-general of Pakistan Army

Rawalpindi: Pakistan Army appointed its first female Lieutenant General after promoting Nigar Johar to the rank, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) in a statement.

According to military’s media wing, Nigar Johar has been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant General and has been appointed as Surgeon-General of Pakistan Army

She hails from the Panj Pir area of Swabi district in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and is presently serving in CMH Rawalpindi.

Earlier, she had the honour of becoming third female officer to reach the rank of major general.
