FM Qureshi Welcomes His Russian Counterpart Lavrov In Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD: Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov on Wednesday has reached in Foreign Office (FO) in Islamabad as a part of his two-day official visit to Pakistan.

FM Qureshi and his Russian counterpart, Sergey Lavrov will hold a delegation-level talk. Sergey Lavrov has also been scheduled to meet Prime Minister (PM) Imran Khan to discuss bilateral ties.

During various interactions, the entire gamut of Flag of Pakistan-Flag of Russia ties and enhancing understanding on mutual areas of interest particularly in the fields of security and defense, energy, counter-terrorism, Afghan peace process, economy, and trade will be discussed.
He will call on Prime Minister Imran Khan and have interaction with other dignitaries.
Foreign Minister Lavrov’s visit is part of the growing interaction and regular high-level exchanges between Pakistan and the Russian Federation.
Pakistan and Russia enjoy friendly and cooperative relations based on mutual respect, trust, and understanding. Bilateral cooperation is growing across a wide range of areas of common interest including in security and defense, counter-terrorism, and the Afghan peace process.
Over the recent past, deepening collaboration in economic, trade, and energy sectors has been the focus of the two governments.
