A joint sitting of Parliament will be held today to discuss and decide on national issues, especially the deteriorating state of the economy and political crisis.
According to details, President Dr. Arif Alvi had convened a joint sitting of Parliament for which a 12-point agenda was released. A joint sitting of the National Assembly and the Senate will be held today at 4 pm in the Parliament House Islamabad in which a large number of members of the National Assembly and Senators will participate.
It is to be noted that before the arrival of the budget, the senators of the former ruling party PTI will also participate in the joint sitting of the parliament while the members of the party assembly have resigned.
Earlier, a joint sitting of the parliament unanimously passed a resolution condemning the sentence passed by India on Hurriyat leader Yasin Malik of Occupied Kashmir. The resolution was presented by Federal Minister for Human Rights Mian Riaz Hussain Pirzada in a meeting chaired by National Assembly Speaker Raja Pervez Ashraf last May.
The resolution said that the House condemns the heinous attempt of the Indian government to deprive the Kashmiri people of their true leadership which is a clear violation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights.
