Malala Yousafzai wed a man named Aseer in Birmingham, the education activist revealed on Twitter.

Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.

PPP leader Aseefa Bhutto Zardari felicitated Malala and hoped that the newly-wedded couple finds joy together.
"May your journey be blessed at every turn. Sending you love & duas," she said.
Malala's father in a tweet said the occasion was "beyond words".
