Karachi: Rangers have called in more fire trucks and hydrants as a factory fire in Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE) rages out of control.

Six fire trucks are already deployed to put out the fire that begun in a thee storey building in Haroonabad inside the industrial area. Terming the blaze a third level fire, tenders from all over the city have been called in to support efforts to control the inferno. Godowns and factories in the surrounding area have all been emptied while a petrol pump in the vicinity has been shut down.

A large amount of chemicals and thinners in the factory is leading to periodic explosions in the building.

According to rescue officials,multiple people are stuck inside the building while one man has sustained burn injuries and has been transferred to a hospital.

Sindh Rangers have cordoned off the area while assisting in the fire-fighting operation.
