A viral social media claim suggesting that former Prime Minister Imran Khan is set to be released from jail in the coming weeks is false.

The claim appeared in a Facebook post on 31 May 2026, stating that Imran Khan could “walk free” soon as part of a possible deal. However, no official announcement, credible media report, or verified legal update supports this claim.

According to available verification, PTI’s official updates and statements from people close to the former prime minister do not confirm any such development. Imran Khan’s lawyer Khalid Yousaf Chaudry also indicated that legal paperwork linked to the Al-Qadir Trust case was still facing procedural issues, including the signing of power of attorney documents.

Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan also rejected similar claims circulating online, calling reports about any behind-the-scenes meeting or deal false.

A representative from Geo News also denied any credible information about Imran Khan’s expected release and described the viral page behind the claim as dubious.

Verdict: False

There is currently no official or credible report confirming that Imran Khan will be released from Adiala Jail in the coming weeks. The viral claim is misleading and unsupported.
