People across Pakistan will observe Shab-e-Barat with traditional zeal and zest tonight (Friday).

On the occasion, it is said, Allah showers His infinite mercy and blessings on human beings. On this day, devotees visit graveyards to offer Fateha Khwani for the eternal peace of their loved ones.

Special prayers will be offered in the mosques throughout the night to seek the blessings of Allah and forgiveness for their sins.

Shab-e-Barat prayer congregations will be held in small and major mosques throughout the country.

Ulema and Khateebs, in their special sermons, will highlight the importance of the holy night.

The significant distinction of this night, according to Islamic belief, is that it falls on 15th Sha’aban in which depiction of births and deaths is finalized for the forthcoming year.

People gather at mosques after Isha prayers and offer night-long special prayers, while different gatherings and Mahafil-e-Naat are held to mark the Shab-e-Baraat.

On Friday, Prime Minister Imran Khan wished the nation on Shab-e-Barat as well.
