PMA Calls For Imposition Of Coronavirus Emergency Throughout Country

ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical Association (PMA) on Saturday called for the imposition of the coronavirus emergency throughout the country.
PMA secretary-general Dr. Qaisar Sajjad warned that the situation could worsen if steps were not taken to control the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said that the government was taking all steps very late. "We had informed the government in the beginning, but the government did not pay attention to it," he said.
Dr. Qaisar Sajjad said that they had informed the government since the beginning, but no one listened to them. "Coronavirus cases have increased manifold across the country, but the people are not paying attention to it. The cases before us are only registered and four-time cases are still unregistered," he said.
He said the people would have to strictly follow the SOPs if do not want an India-like situation in the country.
The PMA secretary-general said that the government should impose curfew in the country to control the pandemic. "The government should take all possible steps to save the lives of the people," he concluded.
