LAHORE: Senior leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-N have alleged that the verdict, given by Lahore High Court yesterday reinstating Pervaiz Elahi as Chief Minister, contains flaws and demanded of the Supreme Court to take notice.

Addressing a press conference, Rana Sanaullah said it wasn’t interim relief, but rather complete relief proved to Pervaiz Elahi which was not fair with the masses of Punjab. He said Punjab government was holding on basis of a stay order, and demanded that government’s business be restricted on a day-to-day basis.

He said Pervaiz Elahi-led set up must not fear anything if they had required number (of MPAs with them), and should better get vote of confidence next morning, adding that Elahi himself had admitted that 99% of MPAs didn’t want dissolution. He alleged that the Elahi set up knew they won’t be able to get the vote of confidence, therefore, resorted to mass horse-trading and corruption. He went on alleging that the father and son (Pervaiz Elahi and Moonis) made billions through a single project only.

Rana Sanaullah said the Governor was duty bound to order CM for getting vote of confidence after witnessing ‘no business’ in Punjab Assembly and when Pervaiz Elahi failed to convene the session. He disclosed that PMNL had started preparations for elections in Punjab.

Speaking on this occasion, Khawaja Saad Rafique said 18 days had  been given (by the LHC as interim relief) and there were fears that the Elahi-led set up would now resort to massive corruption (horse-trading). He said unfortunately, the ‘doctrine of necessity’ could never be buried in the country. Saad Rafique said there could never be any justice in the country unless and until the ‘doctrine of necessity’ is buried.

Saad Rafique further said that these people (led by Pervaiz Elahi) were taking key decisions (for the province) which was why, they first needed to get vote of confidence from Punjab Assembly.
