Results of the Chinese covid vaccine trial will come in a few days: Yasmin Rashid

RAWALPINDI: Punjab Health Minister Dr. Yasmin Rashid Thursday said the Chinese covid-19 vaccine trial is completed and its results will come in a few days. She said Prime Minister Imran Khan wants Pakistan to become a welfare state.

The health minister talked to the media in Rawalpindi and said the death ratio from the pandemic has decreased in Punjab. The coronavirus vaccine will be administered to frontline health workers in phase one, she added.

Yasmin Rashid said, “The Punjab government has so far distributed 5.2 million health insurance cards for the indoor facilities including neurosurgery, cardiac treatment, and dialysis amongst the most deserving families.

“Our plan is to extend the scope of the insurance scheme to the whole of the province. One health card covers treatment up to Rs 720,000. All families in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been issued the health cards.”
