Senate election ECP rejects Shehbaz Sharif's plea to cast vote in Lahore

ISLAMABAD: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has rejected Opposition Leader Shehbaz Sharif’s plea seeking permission to cast his vote for Senate elections in Lahore.

The election commission, while rejecting the plea of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif, stated that a vote cannot be cast anywhere other than National Assembly.

It is to be noted here that the Election Commission of Pakistan has issued production orders for imprisoned members of the national and provincial assemblies so that they could be a part of the voting process for the Senate election scheduled for March 3.
