Sugar scandal probe: NAB summons Mian Aslam Iqbal on May 4

LAHORE: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has summoned Mian Aslam Iqbal and Samiullah Chaudhary on May 4 in the ongoing sugar scandal probe. The provincial ministers have been directed to appear before the Rawalpindi office.
Sources privy to the matter that a combined investigation team of the anti-corruption watchdog will interrogate the government members.

Mian Aslam Iqbal and Samiullah Chaudhry have been asked to bring the record pertaining to the subsidy given on sugar from 2018 to 2019. Furthermore, the documentation of the export permits has also been summoned.
It is pertinent here to mention that the anti-graft body is investigating the sugar scandal under the Anti-Money Laundering Act, 2010.
