UNSC members express concern over Israel’s Minister visit to Al-Aqsa Masjid

The United Nations Security Council members have expressed concern over the visit of Israel’s Security Minister to the al-Aqsa Mosque compound and called for maintaining the status quo at the site.

Addressing the emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, Palestinian ambassador Riyad Mansour regretted the world body's inaction over Israeli provocative steps.

The UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres also urged all parties to refrain from steps that can escalate tensions in and around the holy sites.
