Water level rises to 307 feet in Hub Dam after monsoon rain

HUB (9Newshd): The recent wave of monsoon rain in the country has led to an increase in the water level at Hub dam, raising the level by seven feet to 307 feet.
According to a Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) official, the water level has risen to 307 feet, with the dam having the capacity to store 339 feet of water.
WAPDA official added the recent spell of rain has contributed to the rise of the water level in the dam.
On the other hand, the flood control room has said the water level is rising in the Indus River.
During the last 24 hours, widespread rain with thunderstorm occurred in lower Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad.
In Karachi, heavy rainfall has been recorded with Surjani Town receiving 49 millimeters (mm) of rain, Saddar 45mm, Nazimabad 25mm, North Karachi 19mm, Shaheed Benazirabad 28mm and Hyderabad receiving 15mm of rain in the last 24 hours.
Earlier, this year, a spell of rains in the southwestern province of Balochistan had led to an increase in the water level at Hub dam, raising the level by 292 feet.
According to the Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Managing Director (MD) Asadullah Khan, the water was enough for providing water to Karachi for six months. For more latest news Pakistan, visit 9newshd.tv
