According to Inter-Services Public Relations, troops of the Pakistan Army and Frontier Corps Balochistan launched an area sanitization operation on the morning of May 13, 2026, in the Nosham area of Barkhan district.

The operation was aimed at eliminating terrorists described by the military as “Indian-backed Fitna Al Hindustan.”

During the operation, security forces located and engaged a group of terrorists, leading to a heavy exchange of fire.

The military said seven terrorists were killed during the encounter.

Weapons, ammunition, and explosives were also recovered from the possession of the slain terrorists.

During the intense firefight, five members of the security forces embraced martyrdom. The martyrs included Major Tauseef Ahmed Bhatti, a 31-year-old officer from Pakpattan.

Other personnel martyred in the operation were Naik Fida Hussain from Sukkur, Sepoy Zakir Hussain from Skardu, Sepoy Suhail Ahmed from Khanewal, and Sepoy Muhammad Ayaz from Rahim Yar Khan.

The military reiterated that counterterrorism operations under the “Azm-e-Istehkam” strategy will continue across the country.

According to ISPR, the campaign is being carried out under the framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Officials stated that security forces and law enforcement agencies remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored militancy from Pakistan.
