NADRA Clarifies Pension Rules for Missing Life Certificates
Published On 05 Oct, 2026
9 News HD: NADRA has clarified an important issue for pensioners who could not receive their Proof of Life Certificate by September. The authority said that pension payments will not be stopped simply because a Proof of Life Certificate could not be issued through NADRA.
According to NADRA’s clarification, the government has already decided that pensioners will not lose their pension due to the non-issuance of the certificate. This applies to retired employees from different government departments and institutions, including federal and provincial departments and the armed forces.
The clarification is important for elderly pensioners who may have faced problems with the new verification process. NADRA has been working with relevant government departments to make the Proof of Life process easier and more convenient.
Under the revised pension system, NADRA has a key role in digital proof-of-life verification. Pensioners can use the NADRA PakID app and other approved channels for verification. The new system is designed to reduce the need for pensioners to visit banks for routine verification.
The government has also clarified that pension accounts should not be marked dormant only because a pensioner has not completed biometric or Proof of Life formalities.
Pensioners who are facing verification problems should follow the latest instructions from NADRA and the relevant pension authority. 9 News HD will continue to provide updates on pension rules, NADRA services and Proof of Life requirements.
