No FIR Registered Yet Over PIMS Fire Incident, Official Tells Senate Body

It is to be mentioned here that 14 newborn babies had died in a fire incident at the nursery of PIMS Hospital.
Joint Executive Director Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), Dr Iqbal Durrani appeared in the Senate standing committee’s session chaired by Sameena Mumtaz Zehri.
PIMS Executive Director Dr. Salman and Secretary Health also attended the meeting.
“If any FIR of the PIMS fire incident was registered,” chairperson of the committee questioned the PIMS official. “No FIR of the incident yet registered,” Dr. Iqbal Durrani said.
Senator Masroor Ahsan said that the prime minister had terminated services of eight employees and directed for registration of criminal cases against them. ” Why no action taken despite the PM’s instructions,” he questioned.
“To whom you are giving this presentation,” committee’s chair angrily questioned the PIMS hospital’s officials. “Why the FIR of negligence in the incident was not registered till now,” she questioned.
“We want the FIR of the negligence and murder case in the next session of the committee,” chairperson said.
“I am well aware of the negligence at the PIMS hospital she added.
