Qatar Offers Iran New Peace Deal, Tehran Rejects Ideas

9 News HD: Qatar has presented Iran with a new draft peace deal aimed at ending the ongoing war involving Iran, the United States and Israel.
However, a senior Iranian official has described the ideas as unacceptable, raising questions about whether the latest effort can bring the conflict to an end.
According to an official familiar with the talks, Qatar presented the proposal on Sunday, and Iran was reviewing it. A response was expected by the end of the week.
The proposed plan includes a seven-day timeline with daily steps to build trust between the two sides. Several countries could also act as guarantors to help ensure the agreement is followed.
Qatar and Pakistan have been involved in diplomatic efforts to reduce tensions and find a way to end the war. The conflict has disrupted shipping and oil supplies and raised concerns about further fighting across the Middle East.
One of the main disagreements is Iran’s nuclear programme. The United States wants the issue included in talks from the beginning. Iran, however, says the US must first end its blockade of Iranian ports and lift sanctions on its oil exports.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said Tehran remained in contact with intermediaries and was still giving diplomacy a chance. He also said Iran was reviewing ways to put its own seven-day plan into action.
It remains unclear whether Qatar’s latest proposal can bring the United States and Iran closer to an agreement. Their different demands continue to make progress difficult.
The coming days may be important for regional diplomacy as efforts continue to prevent a fresh escalation. Any progress towards an agreement could also help ease concerns about energy supplies and shipping routes across the region.
