The Sindh Assembly session was postponed until Tuesday at 3 PM after the Act was approved by a vast majority.

Interior Minister Zia Lanjar, who personally chaired the standing committee that includes members of the MQM, PTI, and JI, told the press following the meeting that the bill was not introduced in the assembly without consultation.

The Home Minister additionally revealed that all of the bill’s provisions were discussed, suggestions were made, and they were accepted.

120 days prior to the local government’s term end, the Sind government would write to the Election Commission requesting to initiate the election process.

He added that these parties had to read the bill before the meeting, and if they had any objections, they may have said so during the proceedings that they wouldn’t agree with the Act.
