Two schoolgirls died and the third was missing when they were swept away in a nullah flooded with rainwater after torrential downpour here on Monday.

Torrential rains wreaked havoc in many areas in Abbottabad. Three girls were swept away. Bodies of two girls were recovered. The third girl was missing.

Heavy rains caused widespread damage, causing rivers to overflow and flooding the city's main highways.

In a tragic incident, three girls were swept away by the fast-flowing water while crossing a nullah. The bodies of two of them have been recovered, while the search for the third girl was ongoing.

Due to heavy rain, most of Abbottabad's main roads, including the Silk Road, began to look like rivers and canals. Water entered homes in many residential areas, including Bilal Town, Hassan Town, Niazi Colony, and Ayub Road.

Meanwhile, a school building collapsed due to heavy rain in Baron Street, while landslides in the upper areas closed several roads, cutting off many areas.

Electricity supply was suspended in rural areas due to the collapse of electricity poles.

The district administration and Commissioner Hazara have appealed the citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during bad weather conditions, avoid going near rivers and rainwater, and follow safety instructions.
