Inspector General of Police (IGP) Punjab Abdul Kareem presided over a police meeting on Saturday.
Officials reviewed plans to give the IAB a central role in combating corruption, with the IG stating that the branch will now receive direct assistance from Special Branch intelligence.
He added that a Deputy Inspector General (DIG) will conduct daily reviews of complaints against senior officers, while regional Superintendents of Police (SPs) will conduct inquiries involving Sub-Inspectors and higher-ranking personnel.
The IG further informed that inquiries will no longer be forwarded to the respective districts and regions.
Additionally, complaints that were previously disposed of without proper follow-up will be reopened, and investigation-related complaints will be assigned at the SP level for further action.
